This is the PVC frame from the screen kits, sold by the metre.
Order it when you are building an extra screen out of a kit you have already cut, or when a length has been damaged.
Black, white or brown, matching the frame colours the kits come in.
It is flexible PVC, so it cuts with a blade or strong scissors and takes the standard corner pieces.
Measure the perimeter of the opening, add a little for the cuts, and order that many metres.

Shipping & returns
Delivery across Canada in 5 to 7 days. It is free on orders of $60 or more, and a flat $22 below that.
You can cancel within 14 days of receiving your order without giving a reason, under regulation 20 of S.I. No. 484 of 2013, which implements the EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU. You then have a further 14 days to send the goods back, and you pay the cost of returning them.
A screen cut to your own measurements is made to your specification, so regulation 13(1)(c) removes the cancellation right once we have started making it. A standard size you cut down yourself at home keeps the full right until you cut it.
If it arrives faulty, damaged or not as described we put it right at no cost to you, return postage included, under the Consumer Rights Act 2022.

Delivery was quick, installation was easy. The screen frames blended in well with the overall window frame. We are quite happy with the product overall.
Super fast delivery, product works as promised, magnets are strong and the adhesive plus Velcro system works like a charm on our metal frame bedroom door to outside balcony. So lovely to have it open on hot spring/summer evenings for a cross breeze without worrying about those pesky insects!
Have had one fitted to an off-grid cabin for many years, finally, it has a couple of holes. So I purchased the same again, easy to fit to existing Velcro, will keep those pests out hopefully for another couple of years.
These screens are really good quality, with a PVC top layer that snaps on, making them last much longer than the cheaper ones that just stick together with adhesive (which comes off quickly when you open the screen/window). Really happy with them, thanks
We purchased the Magnetic Flyscreen Door and found it to be superior to cheaper versions that we have tried. We had a slight issue with the product but the response from Customer Service was amazing. We recommed this product because it is stronger and closes better than other magnetic screens we've tried and it's easier to install.
The screens are of an excellent quality both in the materials and construction. The delivery time was within a week of ordering, great !
Im really impressed with the vinyl covering the magnets, they close so well. It looks as though they will clean easily if needed without taking them down.
I got white to allow best effect on the light entering my home.
Surprisingly easy to put up despite me being an older woman and not very tall - I’m delighted with my five screens. Counterintuitively I would recommend going for black screens unless you have a white outlook onto say a lighter coloured wall. Also pets negotiate them quite quickly - bug free indoors and a real sense of anti-mozzie security. Top marks
We ordered a magnetic door screen and couldn't be happier. The best feature is the self closing. This makes a world of difference for keeping the flies and mozzies out, particularly with children who don't close doors! It's a great non-permanent option for us and looks neat and tidy.
The screens for our motorhome were easy to order and I would say reasonably priced, once ordered they were on their way and arrived within 3 days of ordering which I reckon is pretty good.
They fitted the doorway perfectly, were very easy to install. They look good too.
I also ordered the bug tennis racket and it had had a good workout, that is probably a bit pricey but ordered to get the free delivery 🤣
How nice is it to actually be able to buy a simple screen for an opening the exact size that you require? Absolutely amazing that is what it is!Also for it to arrive in WA in record time. So much appreciated, from ordering to finish 5 stars well and truly deserved
As we live on the West Coast, South Island we have the dreaded sandflies by day and moths at night and screens for the windows were badly needed.
This was so easy to put together and we're really thrilled as you wouldn't even know it was there.
The very next day we ordered another one and can't wait to get that one up. Roll on summer.
User friendly website, good communication. The product was ordered and in a matter of 3 days I had received the goods. The instructions in the kitset were clear and good materials allowed for a very easy process and professional finish. Very impressed, thank you.
Work out the perimeter of the window, which is twice the width plus twice the height, and add a little for the cuts.
Can you give me an example?
A 100 cm by 150 cm window has a perimeter of 5 metres. Order 5 metres plus a bit of margin.
How do I cut it?
A sharp blade or a strong pair of scissors. No mitre saw and nothing to hire.
What is it made of?
Flexible PVC.
Why PVC rather than aluminium?
It is slimmer, lighter and it cuts with a blade. Rigid aluminium needs a mitre saw and a level of precision that puts the job out of reach for most people.
Is it less sturdy than aluminium?
It is less rigid, which is the point. A flexible frame sits against an out-of-square opening instead of fighting it, and it is far less obtrusive on the window.
What colours are there?
Black, brown or white.
Does the colour change the price?
No, all three are the same per metre.
Which colour should I choose?
Match your window surround. Brown suits timber, white suits uPVC, black suits dark or aluminium frames.
How do I join the corners?
With corner pieces, sold separately in sets of four with two wind clips. One set per screen.
Do corners come with the frame?
No. Frame is by the metre and corners are by the set, because the ratio between them depends on how many screens you are making.
What else do I need?
Mesh, and a fixing. Magnetic strip for a magnetic screen or hook-and-loop tape for a velcro one.
Does the mesh come with it?
No. Replacement mesh is sold separately in three grades.
Can I build a whole screen from parts?
Yes, and it usually works out cheaper than buying made-up screens if you are doing several windows.
Is it worth building rather than buying?
For one window, buy the made-up screen. For four odd-sized windows, buying frame by the metre and cutting to fit is both cheaper and a better fit.
Can I extend an existing screen with it?
Yes, as long as it is the same profile. That is one of the common reasons to buy a metre or two.
Will it fit screens I bought elsewhere?
It's made to match the frame used across this range. Other manufacturers use their own profiles.
Does it hold the mesh?
The frame carries the mesh and the corners hold the shape. How the mesh attaches depends on the type of screen you are building.
Will it go brittle in the sun?
It's made for a product that sits in a window through summer after summer.
Can I use it outside?
The screens it builds fit on the interior face of the window, which keeps the frame out of the weather.
How do I store leftover frame?
Flat or in a gentle coil. Do not crease it, because a sharp kink in a flexible profile stays.
Can I bend it round a curve?
It is flexible, but it is made for straight runs joined at corners. Curved openings are a different job.
Do I need to seal the joins?
No. The corner pieces hold the joins closed.
What if I cut a length too short?
Order another metre. That is the advantage of buying by the metre rather than in a fixed kit.
Should I order extra?
Yes, a little. Everyone gets one cut wrong, and running short halfway round a frame is the one thing worth avoiding.
How do I clean it?
A damp cloth. Keep grit out of the channel.
Is it heavy?
No. A made-up PVC framed screen is light enough to lift off with one hand.
Does it come in different widths?
This is the standard profile used across the range.
Can I paint it?
Order the colour you want instead. It comes in black, brown and white at the same price, and paint on flexible PVC does not stay put.

Extra PVC Frame Lengths from Simple Screens Canada: flexible PVC flyscreen frame sold by the metre in black, white or brown. It is the same frame supplied in the magnetic and velcro window screen kits, bought separately for building an additional screen from a kit that has already been cut down, or for replacing a damaged length. It cuts with a blade or strong scissors and takes the standard corner pieces. To work out the quantity, take twice the width plus twice the height of the opening and add an allowance for the cuts. Corner pieces and magnetic strip are sold separately. Prices are in Canadian dollars and delivery is free across Canada over $60.
